Just like the trend to not have a 'land-line' at home - just a mobile - it may make sense to have desktop computers in the office connected to the network using wireless, not an ethernet cable into the wall jack. Especially for unique situations where there simply isn't a network connection, or for temporary situations like training classes.
Here's a PCI card that connects at Wireless N (and G and B) assuming you have a Wireless N router, so the connection speed can be as good any wired connection. Mostly favorable reviews - hard to judge, but we've used plenty of stuff from Trend with no problems.
These work really well in the home - where you just don't want to have all the ethernet cables strung around everywhere.
